About me

I have been passionate about complementary health since I qualified as an Alexander Teacher in 1996. I had lessons for a frozen shoulder brought about by excessive tension in playing badminton and the flute, which applying the principles of the Alexander Technique completely resolved in a little over 6 months. Lessons also played a large part in becoming asthma free: a condition from which I had suffered from since I was 18 months old.

My private practice is based in Basingstoke where I see pupils on an individual basis and run small introductory group workshops.

I have many years experience of working with both professional and amateur musicians (initially as a flute teacher) and spent 10 years teaching students in the Music department at Southampton University. I have taught in a variety of schools and health establishments and am an experienced speaker and workshop presenter, having lectured in the UK and abroad.

I have also spent a number of years giving group and individual sessions to those suffering from Parkinson's Disease, with significant benefits in movement and control.

In addition to teaching the Alexander Technique, I am a qualified Nutritional Therapist and  Massage Therapist (Swedish, Soft Tissue and Oncology) and assess and use any combination of these disciplines as necessary and required. I am fully insured for professional and public liability.
